You likely have heard of David Eby’s proposed changes for real estate in British Columbia. Not sure why he could not have done this as housing minister but politics is politics I guess.
What you may not have heard is that there is upcoming ban on foreign buyers purchasing residential real estate in Canada effective Jan. 1, 2023. As of now this ban is for 2 years, but if the contract is entered into prior to Jan 1., 2023 the deal will still be allowed to close. Will be interesting to see what will happen with the Whistler real estate market.
