| This is just a quick reminder that property tax payments are due by July 2. You should be in contact with your past clients to remind them to pay online, by mail, or in person. Payment instructions are outlined on their tax bill.
You should also remind them to claim the Homeowners’ Grant (HOG) or the Senior Grant if eligible. This gives them at least a $570 discount on their property tax. Also, if you have clients buying or selling their home before July 2, check with their lawyer or conveyancer early on about who will pay the tax and claim any grants so there are no surprises upon completion.
